Objectives & Value Statements

Values are the standards that influence every aspect of our lives. Values provide the direction to decisions that are made by an organization or program. Leadership Alexandria has identified the following values to guide the program:

We embrace behavior and actions that respect and honor the background, diversity, and contributions of all in our community.

Integrity

We believe that individuals must demonstrate the strength, moral principals, honesty and ethics that warrant the trust of the community.

Courage

We believe that the community can only grow and prosper if we dare to be bold in our visions, stand by our convictions and be fearless in our quest for a community rich in experience.
Service

We commit ourselves to be stewards of the community, the highest level of caring.

Commitment

We value a passion for service and believe responsibility and duty is imperative to enrich the community.

Leadership Alexandria is designed to achieve the following objectives:

• Identify and select highly-motivated and committed leaders to participate in the program and guide its future development.
• Systematically inform, challenge and educate the participants regarding the opportunities and challenges of the community, region and state, as well as the dynamics of social and economic change.
• Establish an atmosphere for dialogue, communication, and trust between the participants and existing community leadership.
• Develop the capacity of the participants to be effective leaders in both their personal and professional lives.
• Create an understanding of how to develop collaborative relationships to achieve and sustain community goals.
• Identify organizational and individual opportunities for community involvement and facilitate the placement of participants in these positions.
