he Alexandria Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest and most effective chambers in the Greater Washington region, with 1000 business members who employ more than 49,000 people. Governed by a 33-member Board of Directors, the Alexandria Chamber is one of the oldest chambers in the country, having been founded in 1906, before the United States Chamber of Commerce.

The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce serves as the voice of business in the City of Alexandria through its aggressive lobbying efforts at the local, state and federal levels. In addition, the Chamber offers a variety of programs and services to assist member firms in promoting and expanding their business base. The Alexandria Chamber is also proud to host the Leadership Alexandria program and the Alexandria Small Business Development Center.
