Relocation Information
The Alexandria Chamber of
Commerce has assembled a package for newcomers and those
considering a move to our city, which provides a variety of
helpful information that will assist you in becoming acquainted
with Alexandria.
The following information is
included in our Relocation Packet:
- The City of Alexandria Annual
Report which provides you with useful information on major
issues, messages from the Mayor and City Council,
accomplishments and events in the City.
- An Alexandria Guide with
information on local history, government, voting and
registration, licenses, parks, recreation, health services,
day care and other community services.
- An excellent street map of
Alexandria and its surrounding environments.
- Local economic indicators,
information on cost of living, tax rates and employment
rates.
- Guides to Motoring in Virginia
and the various transportation systems.
- Several brochures on
Alexandria's available cultural and recreational facilities,
hotels, restaurants, calendar of events, etc.
- The Alexandria Chamber of
Commerce Annual Business Guide, which lists all Chamber
members and businesses.
- A welcome letter to the City
from the Alexandria Chamber President and CEO
- A booklet put together by the
Chamber Office of frequently called phone numbers;
utilities, newspapers, hospitals, churches, public and
private schools, universities of the Metropolitan area, a
city statistical profile, and listings of Alexandria's major
private and public employers, and other useful materials.
We would like you to have this
package as quickly as possible to assist you in getting to know
Alexandria as we know Alexandria: as a unique, history-filled
community and a wonderful place to live and work. Because of the
increased demand, and the increasing cost of supplies and
postage, we must charge $12.00 to cover our costs. We will send
the package seven to tens days after processing your order.
If you'd like to receive an
Apartment Shoppers Guide or New Homes
Book, please request them
with your order and add $4.00 to cover the postage cost (the
total package cost with the Apartment Shoppers Guide or New
Homes Book is $16.00).
