Visitor Information
Alexandria is steeped in both
history and culture offering a wide variety of things to do from
visiting George Washington's home to dining on the lovely
Potomac River. Due to the more than one million people who visit
the City of Alexandria each year, The Alexandria
Convention and Visitors Association was established to
provide visitor information and keep updated schedules of
events. We suggest making their office, also known as the Ramsay
House, your first stop when you arrive. It is centrally located
at the corner of King and Fairfax Streets in the heart of Old
Town and is filled with a large selection of brochures and lists
of walking tours and special events to chose from during your
visit. ACVA can be reached by calling 1-800-388-9119 or by
visiting their web site at www.funside.com.
In addition to regularly scheduled events, Alexandria also
offers a wide variety of activities on a daily basis including
dining in Colonial taverns, shopping in the specialty shops of
Old Town, walking tours of the City's historic sites and homes
or a boat ride along the waterfront. It's all here in
Alexandria.
For further assistance please do
not hesitate to call the Chamber office, we will be glad to
help. If you should use any of the services we have recommended,
please be sure to tell them the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce
sent you.
We know that you will enjoy your
stay here and hope you'll return again and again.
