Joining the Chamber is the first step to involvement. Once you've joined the Chamber you are eligible for reduced price tickets for Chamber functions, ability to apply for Business of the Year awards, support with advocacy and legislative concerns, membership directory listing, and so much more!
STEP THREE: ENGAGE
.Hundreds of members of the community are involved in volunteer positions within the Alexandria Chamber. From standing departments to event specific committees, there are options that work with all types of commitment levels. Check out information below about our board, standing committees, and event planning committees.
STEP TWO: ATTEND
The Chamber calendar is packed with events that cater to different schedules, interests, and areas of the community. We host nine signature events a year, where we bring together, on average, 200+ members of the community at a time. We also host a slew of monthly networking events including a speed-dating style breakfasts and casual after hours.
STEP FOUR: SPONSOR
Looking for a way to further promote your business in the community? Chamber sponsorship is a great way to provide brand awareness and recognition to our members and the community. All of our programming, from small to large, offers partnership opportunities. Be a title presenting sponsor of an entire networking series or a smaller supporting sponsor for the year's biggest gala, the possibilities are endless.

Our standing committees support entire departments within the Chamber. Each committee is led by a member of our Executive Committee and supported by a Chamber Staff Member. Our standing committees meet year round on a monthly basis, committing to achieving annual goals for the Chamber.
Communications - support marketing & communication strategy and implementation to enhance the brand and promote events, advocacy and membership growth
Development - help members and non-members alike in promoting their brand awareness and growth through sponsorship
Finance - provide oversight in reviewing and recommending the annual fiscal budget, ensure the chamber is running as fiscally responsible as possible
Government Relations - charged with representing and serving the advocacy voice of Alexandria business before government at the local, state, and federal level. Involvement is by application only, which opens annually in the fall.
Membership/Ambassadors - serve as a liaison between the Chamber leadership and it's members, oversee a portfolio of members and build a relationship with them and bring their needs to the table, become a knowledgeable resource for chamber innerworkings

PLANNING & EVENT COMMITTEES
Program and event committees support specific networks and meetings throughout the year. Involvement at this level ranges from 4-5 months prior to an event, to year round when planning a networking series.
Professional Women's Network (ACPWN) Steering - foster networking and education opportunities for the Chamber's fastest growing program, assist in fundraising and event content for year round programming
GovCon Steering - give voice to government contracts doing business in the city through education, networking, and business development
Nonprofit & Association Steering - facilitate quarterly networking opportunities to allow nonprofit and association members to exchange and bring light to issues within the industry
Young Leader's Network Steering - facilitate and engage emerging business leaders in the area between 25-40 years of age through new and exciting networking opportunities, assists in planning and fundraising for annual 40 Under 40 awards
Event Planning Committees - plan and support sponsorship efforts for upcoming signature event programming, oversee and review award applications, develop creative an innovative content for programming
